In Belgium, it began in 1963 when Henri Janssens and No\u00ebl Anselot fired the starting gun for the first Belgian Kiwanis club at the Ravenstein restaurant in Brussels. The club, whose godfather club was Kiwanis Los Angeles, was named \u201cKiwanis Club No. 1\u201d and, along with Vienna, was the first Kiwanis establishment in Europe.<\/p>

The District Belgium Luxembourg has 192\u00a0<\/span>clubs with nearly 3.900 members who volunteer\u00a0185.000\u00a0hours each year. About 3.700.000\u00a0\u20ac per year is donated to targeted projects.<\/p>

The district was at the cradle of the Kiwanis rag dolls, the monumental K-Dolls, an intense collaboration with Special Olympics and numerous initiatives in the field of both mental and material assistance to children.<\/p>
